8 Exceptional Things Successful People Do On Weekends (2 of 5)

2. Reflect

During the week, you’re so busy working that it leaves you very little time to actually sit back and reflect on your performance. The weekend provides an opportunity for evaluation without distractions. What were some of the small and big wins that you experienced the previous week? Where can you find room for improvement? How were your interactions with supervisors, colleagues, and those working under you? Don’t reflect in general terms about your performance, think about specific, tangible goals that you want to achieve and when you’d like to achieve them. Develop a mindset where you give yourself credit for the positive achievements from the past week while holding yourself accountable for the things that might not have worked.

3. Never Sleep In

It’s easy to succumb to the temptation of sleeping late on weekends, especially when you have no obligations. But successful people maintain the exact same sleeping schedule 7 days a week. So if you go to bed at 10pm on weeknights and wake up at 6am, continue to do so on Saturdays and Sundays. Focus on quality sleep over quantity. People who wake up early on weekends are far more productive than those who spend their Saturday late nights scrolling through their social media feed and then crawling out of bed at 9am.
