The Jokers, Ranked from Worst to Best (2 of 5)
2. Cesar Romero—Batman (TV, 1966-1968)
Jared Leto may have been aiming for edgy, but maybe he should’ve looked back to Cesar Romero’s original campy Joker. On the old Batman TV show, Romero played the Joker like a game show host who had far too much coffee and now wants to blow everyone up. The bright colors, goofy music, and POW!’s were pure ’60s fun. But unfortunately, his Joker doesn’t really hold up today. Aside from its sentimental value, this version of the Joker is likely even trashier than Leto’s portrayal.

3. Zach Galifianakis—The LEGO Batman Movie (2017)
Galifianakis voices the Joker in this hilarious LEGO parody, and while he’s not trying to be terrifying, he’s surprisingly spot-on. His Joker is needy, petty, and desperate for Batman’s attention, which hilariously reframes their rivalry as an awkward break-up. While the humor is evident, it manages to capture the Joker’s twisted obsession with Batman more effectively than some “serious” interpretations.
