8 Actors Who Played Villains Too Well That They Were Hated IRL (3 of 5)
4. John KramerasJigsawinthe Saw
Tobin Bell played the iconic psycho killer John Kramer, or Jigsaw. His portrayal of the sick and twisted man with too much time on his hands was marked by a calm demeanor that was the direct opposite of the horrific traps he created to test his victims’ will to survive. Both Bell’s justification for Jigsaw’s brutal actions and the hellishly creative death traps made him an unforgettable villain. However, as it often happens, too much of a good thing (or bad, in this case) doesn’t always end well. Eventually, the fans started to confuse Bell with his character, so he had to clarify that he did not endorse Jigsaw’s behavior. Can you imagine the amount of hate this man was receiving on a daily basis for him to come out and say that?

5. David TennantasKilgraveinJessica Jones
In one of the best Netflix/Marvel TV shows, Jessica Jones, David Tennant portrayed Kilgrave, a manipulative psychopath with the superpower to control others using a sort of virus that he can produce. Tennant’s portrayal was so emotional, raw, and intense that it led many viewers to experience genuine discomfort while watching. Even though David was a beloved actor who previously portrayed the iconic Tenth Doctor in Dr. Who, some clueless fans decided to send him hate comments, while others said it was challenging to watch him in other roles without hearing him yell “JESSICA!” in their heads.
